Yamaha Custom Oboes are hand-crafted from the finest African grenadilla wood with a timeless "Old World" patience. Boasting the highest standards of traditional workmanship, they also incorporate the very latest computerized manufacturing technology. That's why their intonation is so true, their response so right, and their sound so magical. The 831 features a Conservatoire system with semi-automatic octave keys, and has a "European" style narrow bore configuration for a warm, broad tone which can blend well with other instruments.
