 | The Adams Robert van Sice Artist Marimba is made from the best materials and is the first choice for any marimbist. Carefully selected Honduras rosewood bars are finished with a specially developed lacquer which ensures optimum sound. Adams marimbas are tuned through the sixth overtone by our skilled tuners. |
| This tuning process was developed to give us complete control over all aspects of the sound of the marimba. There are no short cuts taken in the tuning and voicing process so that the instrument you receive will be balanced through the entire range. The resonators are carefully designed to amplify the fundamental note of each bar and to give maximum sustain, volume and clarity. | |
| As with other Adams mallet instruments, the patented voyager system on the Adams Artist Marimbas allow easy adjustment over a wide range of playing heights. It also allows the musician to change the configuration of their artist marimba to 4 1/3 , 4 2/3 or 5 octaves by purchasing the appropriate conversion kit. You can begin with a 4 1/3 instrument, and later expand to 4 2/3 or 5 octaves. If you begin with the 5 octave instrument, you can purchase a kit to convert it to a 4 1/3 octave instrument when the extended range is not required. You only have to take the instrument you need for each job! |
