Yamaha Alto Flute

Featuring an agile response, warm beautiful tone, and precise intonation, Yamaha alto flutes have reached a new standard in harmony flute design. Yamaha´s unique expertise with the various alloys used in brass instruments has led to the discovery that gold-brass (brass with a higher than usual copper content) is the perfect material for optimum tone, weight, and playability. The gold-brass gives a rich, colorful sound, and the flute is much more comfortable to hold and play than traditional alto flutes, being considerably lighter.

The special Altus curved headjoints have been designed to perform easily in tune, and they are hand carved in such a manner to support colorful tone and expressive articulation.

Ergonomically Designed Alto Flute

The Series 25 provides a more customized left hand mechanical configuration that facilitates a natural left arm position similar to holding a C flute. As a result, there is less neck strain to play a straight alto flute. Another beneficial feature directly resulting from this ergonomic design is a reduced necessity to stretch the right wrist and hand. The lower keys on the footjoint are easier to reach and operate.
